Development

We tend to promote those with the strongest technical skill into leadership positions. But very often we find that technical expertise does not equate to leadership ability. Newly appointed team leaders and even experienced managers can often struggle with new responsibilities and lack the skills and knowledge to be successful.

For the last 20 years I have been working with team leaders and their managers, supporting them in the challenges of people management and leadership, ensuring they have the skills to be successful. I work with organisations and tailor training to their needs. Here is a flavour of some of the training courses I have facilitated:

  • Team lead fundamentals (HR policies and guidelines, probation management, absence management, performance management)

  • Dignity at Work

  • Setting Goals and Expectations

  • Providing Feedback

  • Applying a Coaching Style as a Leader

  • Delegation

Carmel asks the right questions at the right times. When I felt stuck and overwhelmed, she was able to guide me to a broader perspective. That shift reenergised & refocussed me which led to real business impact. She is a master of her craft. Carmel wasn’t afraid to challenge me when appropriate, homing in on areas where I wasn’t fulfilling my potential as a leader and ultimately unlocking higher performance.”
